Buckingham is the largest township in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Covering an area of 33 square miles, the township features a landscape of bucolic rolling farmland and gentle streams. Buckingham has a suburban atmosphere with many fine restaurants and retailers.

Buckingham's beautiful Bucks County countryside features a mix of historical and contemporary single-family homes in a range of styles. Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

The Pineville Tavern is a historic landmark in the Buckingham community of Pineville. The tavern was originally built as a home in 1742 and was converted into an inn in the 1760s. The Pineville Tavern retains its old-world charm while the menu has been continually updated to offer an elegant and contemporary selection of steaks, ribs, pan-seared seafood, award-winning burgers, and signature pasta dishes with homemade sauce. The eats are so good Guy Fieri came and raved about the snapper soup and homemade ravioli on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

In the township’s center, the community of Buckingham features many more places to enjoy high-quality food and drink. Baci Ristorante is a family-run eatery offering authentic Northern Italian cuisine alongside inventive pasta dishes and exceptional steaks and seafood. Downstairs, the Heart of Oak Pub has the feel of a traditional British country pub. The Heart of Oak pours a selection of 14 draft beers alongside a menu of British and Italian entrées. Mad Princes Brewing is another great spot for beer lovers, home to rotating taps of unique microbrews. The bottle shop at Candlewyck Bar & Grill boasts more than 1,000 varieties of beer. This incredible selection can be enjoyed alongside Candlewyck’s elevated menu of pub grub favorites.

Along Buckingham's northern boundary with Solebury, Peddler’s Village features a charming selection of 65 specialty shops and 16 restaurants and tasting rooms. Buttonwood Grill is a standout here, known for loaded gourmet burgers and delicious stone-fired, thin-crust pizzas. These delectable eats are joined on the menu by an extensive selection of craft beers.

Things to Do

Along with the wide variety of craft beer available from the township’s taverns and restaurants, Buckingham is one of Bucks County’s best destinations for wine connoisseurs. Buckingham Valley Vineyards & Winery was founded in 1968 as Bucks County’s very first winery. It’s also one of the largest vineyards in Pennsylvania. Visitors can sample a sublime array of reds, whites, and roses alongside port and Bucks County’s only naturally fermented champagne.

Solebury Orchards is another popular destination in Bucks County’s scenic rolling countryside. Here, you can buy the freshest apples, blueberries, cherries, and peaches from the on-site market or head to the orchards to pick your own. Buckingham’s Town and Country Players Theater stages a diverse lineup of plays in an 18th Century cow barn. The Town and Country Players also offer free outdoor performances at Hansell Park throughout the summer. Other events at Hansell Park include a summer concert series. This 39-acre park’s year-round facilities include a children’s playground, walking trails, a pond, and sports fields.
