Wrightstown is a peaceful, rural community in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Wrightstown consists of five distinctive small villages surrounded by bucolic countryside. The community features at least 140 homes that are over a century old. These include seven homes built by the second and third generation of the family of Wrightstown, PA’s first settler, John Chapman.

The five villages within Wrightstown are Penns Park, Pineville, Rushland, Wrightstown, and Wycombe. These inviting small villages each offer a welcoming, community-oriented atmosphere. There are also lots of unique, local businesses, including the boutiques of Carousel Village. The township covers an area of ten square miles, with gorgeous countryside covering the area between its five villages.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Carousel Village is an enchanting destination in Wrightstown named for its original 1890s carousel. Owowcow Creamery at Carousel Village uses local organic ingredients and the finest quality cocoa to create a variety of delicious and unique ice cream flavors. The store offers two dozen ice cream varieties at one time, with half of these being limited-time seasonal flavors. Owowcow Creamery also offers dairy-free sorbet and vegan ice cream.
Organnon’s Natural Market is stocked with organic produce directly sourced from local farms. Carousel Gardens is a nursery and garden center which sells many beautiful seasonal and perennial plants. Other businesses at Carousel Village include footwear emporium The Velvet Slipper, chic French-style home boutique Crystal Cottage, and the eclectic antique and vintage furniture store Nostalgic Nook.
The nearby Vince’s Pizzeria and Taproom combines award-winning pizza with a self-service tap wall featuring 16 craft beers and ciders. Dominick’s Pizza is another popular choice for pizza as well as many other flavorful Italian entrees. In the Wrightstown village of Penns Park, The Fancy Fig Café is open daily for classic breakfast eats and specialty lunchtime salads and sandwiches. The Fancy Fig also offers elegant entrees with ever-changing weekly specials on Thursday through Saturday evenings.
Things to Do
Along with being a one-of-a-kind shopping destination, Carousel Village offers a variety of fun and family-friendly activities. The village’s centerpiece is an authentic Herschell Spillman Carousel of the kind, which was popular throughout American amusement parks in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. The village also features a replica CP Huntington steam engine which takes riders through the 45-acre Indian Walk Christmas Tree Farm.
The Middletown Grange Fair is a traditional celebration that has been held in Wrightstown each August since 1948. The festival runs for three days with nightly live music and family-friendly entertainers. There are also agricultural exhibits, animal shows, arts and crafts contests, games, and carnival rides. The Village Library of Wrightstown offers many community groups and activities in a historic schoolhouse. Programs at the library include storytimes, scouts, exercise and sports groups, and movie and game nights.
